Stray dogs

In All villages, Chevery, Harrington Harbour, Kegaska, La Romaine, Tête-à-la-Baleine

The Municipality receives complaints on a regular basis concerning dogs that are running loose in our communities. Lately the number of complaints has been increasing.

All dog owners are required to keep their dogs tied on at home or on a leash when they are moving around the community.

Even if the owner feels that their pets are not aggressive, there are some residents who are scared when approached by a wondering dog.

These dogs are trespassing on private property, getting into garbage and leaving a mess that other people have to clean up.

There is also the safety issue; a wondering dog could cause a vehicle accident which may injure people and/or the dog as well.

We are counting on the collaboration of dog owners to respect their neighbours and their community by being responsible for their pets.
